Become a Swinging Mullet Host Family

Make a difference this summer by opening your home, and your heart, to a collegiate baseball player.

Each season, the Outer Banks Swinging Mullets welcome talented college athletes from across the country to compete right here on the Outer Banks. Host families play a vital role in making that experience possible by providing players with a safe, welcoming home away from home during the season.

Becoming a host family is more than just offering a place to stay, itโ€™s a chance to be part of the team, support a young athlete chasing his dreams, and create memories your family will never forget.

Hosting a Swinging Mullet player is a rewarding and meaningful way to get involved in the local sports community. Many host families describe the experience as one of the most memorable parts of their summer.

As a host family, youโ€™ll enjoy:

  • A lifelong connection with a collegiate baseball player or intern
  • A positive, inspiring role model and summertime companion for your children
  • Season passesย for your family to attend all home games
  • A specialย Host Family Appreciation Night, including a thank-you moment with your player

Players often become like extended family, sharing meals, celebrating wins, and staying in touch long after the season ends.

We work hard to ensure hosting is a positive experience for both families and players. Our athletes are respectful, responsible, and focused on baseball, academics, and representing the community well.

Basic requirements include:

  • A private bedroom for the player
  • Access to a clean bathroom
  • Kitchen access for meals and snack

Players are typically at the field, training, or team events much of the day, so host families are not expected to provide constant supervision or transportation unless otherwise arranged.

Host families come in all forms, families with kids, couples, retirees, and individuals who want to support summer baseball on the Outer Banks. If you have a welcoming home and a desire to help a young athlete succeed, youโ€™re a great fit.

You do not need prior baseball experience to host, just a willingness to be part of something special.

Weโ€™d love to hear from you.
